Guideline Note: Subject to our first stop, evening activities, eating places, some of us may choose to be longer in town from 3,4,5 days - (maybe spend less money being in town and freak out the second week)

Merwyn, Tony and I think that the Mapenzi is the beach hotel we should all stay at.
It is a big place, lots of steps to go up and down, and walking to do. The pool is good. It is a sister hotel of La Gema de Est, and it is a few hotels away from Blue Bay, so the beach is great.
This is an ALL INCLUSIVE Hotel. They have 3 types of rooms.
The Superior Garden that Tony is talking about is at the rear part of the hotel, starting from the entrance, so there is some walking involved, and no beach view at all.
The Superior rooms are between the Superior Garden and the Deluxe Beach Front rooms, most do not have the sea view, but is nearer to where the action like dinning entertainment and bar.
The Deluxe Beach Front rooms, are facing the beach. The rooms are all the same, simple, and some bigger than the others. They have coffee/tea facility in all the rooms, a mini bar where they put comp water, soft drinks and beers, once a day, the cupboard has a curtain to it, no doors.
The difference in the rooms is actually where they are situated. The drinks that are included are Beer, some selected spirits, water, cocktails, juices at the bar area, plus wines for meals.
On Mondays they have Beach dinner and a show, on Thursdays they have pool dinner with live band, and there is a different show every night at 9.30, like the acrobats, karaoke, Masai dancing, etc. They have a pool table and other sports. The good thing is some can decide to use the Beach Front rooms and others the Superior Garden, and some the Superior Rooms. For the energetic ones the Superior Garden ones are great.
I had asked for a special rate for our group, saying they are mostly ex Zanzibaris. They asked me to put it in writing and I did that and after an exchange of many e mails, they have come up with the rates, but conditions apply.
Our company has contract rates with Mapenzi, but the rates they have given FOR THIS GROUP ONLY, are better than even our contract rates.

CONDITIONS:
1. MINIMUM STAY HAS TO BE 7 DAYS/6 NIGHTS, FOR THE GROUP, ALL TO CHECK IN ON THE SAME DAY, TO GET THESE RATES. WILLGET SAME RATES IF ANYONE WANTS TO STAY LONGER.
2. WE HAVE TO GIVE THE FINAL CONFIRMATION BY WED 4TH APRIL, SO NEED EXACT DATES. WE WILL HAVE TO PAY A DEPOSIT UPFRONT, TO HOLD THE BOOKING. WE CAN SORT OUT LATER HOW YOU GUYS WILL PAY US. IT WILL HAVE TO BE BY BANK TRANSFER OR CASH IN USD.
3. BOOKING HAS TO BE MADE AS ONE GROUP THROUGH WILDERSUN, AS WE WILL BE CONFIRMING THE REQUEST WITH A WILDERSUN BOOKING VOUCHER.
The cost of drinks are high at these beach hotels, so the fact that drinks are included, is a real bonus.
Knowing Zanzibaris so well, I know that it is best you guys keep the last 2 days in ZNZ town as all of you will want to do this and that last minute.
You all arrive on the 30th Oct. Stay at the Tembo upto the night of the 4th Nov. On 5th we all go together to the Mapenzi, and stay for 6 nights which is upto the night of 10th Nov. On 11th Nov return to town for 2 nights stay, and everyone departs on the 13th Nov for back home. For those who definitely do not want to stay the last 2 nights in town, they can have 2 extra nights at the Mapenzi at the same rate, but I need to know as at Wed as to who is doing what and which rooms you guys want at the Mapenzi.

In Town, Madeira Tours have the best rates for Tembo, the Apartments, so it is best you do all the booking as a group with them, for first 6 nights from 30th Oct and the last 2 nights for those who want to come back to town.
